Second To None!

Cardiff Education Foundation
Annual Fundraising Campaign
$120,000 Goal for 2006-2007

  • The annual fundraising campaign modeled on similar successful programs statewide, enables parents to declare independence from state budget limitations and provide funding for desired educational programs.
  • Each of these programs has been identified as an educational goal in the District Strategic Plan. The priorities have been discussed by the Board of Trustees, PSO, school administrators and staff.
  • CEF funds programs annually, to the fullest extent possible based on the level of participation and actual contributions received.
  • The programs funded will be based on the needs of the District, educational priorities and availability of funding from other sources (including PSO, Grants and the Schools General Fund). Our goals is to fund the following:

Education Technology Coordinator to maximize the use of technology and integrate it into the district wide curriculum

Science Lab Teacher at each school to make use of new science labs and supplement classroom science with hands-on learning

Spanish Language Teacher to introduce conversational Spanish and grammar fundamentals focused on grades 4-6

Physical Education Teacher to teach basic motor skills, games, sportsmanship, nutrition and fitness

Music Teacher to provide music and band instruction available for all children

  • The cost of these teacher specialists exceeds $250,000 per year. CEF suggests a contribution of $500.00 a year or $42.00 a month – that is only $1.35 a day -- from every family at Cardiff Schools will allow us to achieve this goal for Cardiff kids. Given this level of contribution our students will receive the equivalent of an expensive Private School Education!
  • The District and the Foundation will continue to aggressively seek public and private grants to subsidize these programs. PSO is also committed to continuing its support of these and other enrichment programs.
  • Since each family’s ability to contribute varies within our District, we offer a range of contribution levels. Our goal is to get at least 30% of our families contributing at what ever level they can afford.
  • Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. CEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
  • While this program is completely voluntary, its success relies on you and the overall level of participation. Our goal of 30+% participation will ensure success!
  • Ten percent of all Foundation contributions are dedicated to our Endowment Fund committed to funding these programs in perpetuity once our goal of $2 million is reached.
  • All participants in this campaign become members of the CEF and will be acknowledged in community-wide publications. All funds are used to support our specialty teachers and the Endowment Fund.

Thank you for your generous support.
Together we are creating an education “Second to None” for Cardiff Kids.
