    7:00AM- 8:15AM  Monday-Friday. 

    AM care is already included in your tuition cost, no need to let us know if your child will be attending for AM care. 

    AM care is available for both Cardiff & Ada Harris students

     

    CARDIFF 12:15-6:00 Monday-Friday until Kinders go full day.

    After Thanksgiving Break, our hours will be:

    2:35-6:00 Monday,Tuesday,Thursday,Friday

    12:15-6:00 Wednesdays

     

    ADA HARRIS 

    2:45-6:00 Monday,Tuesday,Thursday,Friday

    12:30-6:00 Wednesdays

    Conference Week,Minimum Days *11:50

    *we are available for your child on any extra early release days/parent teacher conferences at both sites.

  • Is there a specific pick-up time?

    There is no designated pick-up time so you may pick-up your child any time between our hours of operation. During school days, we close at 6:00pm. For all camps we open from 7:30-5:30 and drop off/pick up is also anytime between our hours of operation.

  • How or where do students check in with Extended Day?

    Once the bell rings, students will walk over to our Extended Day rooms.We are located in Rooms 9 & 10 in the Kinder Yard. Staff will sign all children in. If you have your notifications on, you will receive a message letting you know your child is signed in.

     

    For Kinders: we are located just a few doors down from all the kindergarten classrooms. 

    For Ada Harris: your child(ren) will walk over to our Rooms (26 & 27) and check in.

    Cardiff School teachers usually have a line of students going to parent pick up & another line of students going to Extended Day.

  • Where do I drop-off and/or pick-up my child?

    You will need the ProCare app in order to sign your child in and out. Simply load the app, sign in, and click the square symbol with an arrow and check mark in the upper right corner. We will have a QR Code located near Rm. 10 (our main room) & another on the window of Room 9, which you can then scan and sign your child in/out.

    For Cardiff Extended Day:We are located through the small gate on Mozart Ave. Near the Kindergarten classrooms. The gate code will be sent through ProCare messages.

    For your child’s safety, please do not share this code with children. Code will be changed from time to time;depending on how many students know the code.

     

    For Ada Harris Extended Day:We are located on the blacktop area closest to the field & baskteball courts. We are in Rooms 26 & 27.Parents can park on the top of the hill on Windsor and walk down past the lunch tables OR park in the front of the school and walk through the gate located on the left side of the Auditorium.

    Student pick-up is very similar to drop-off in that you will use the QR code and the ProCare app to sign your student out. We have staff sign in your child when they check in with us after school. A staff member will greet you and can call for your child on a walkie talkie; as they may be on a different part of the campus with their group depending on the time. We have a lot of new parents and staff from both schools so please be sure to ALWAYS BRING YOUR PHOTO ID to pick-upIf you do not have a photo ID and a staff member doesn’t know you, you will not be allowed to pick up regardless of whether you have the Procare app or not. 

    PLEASE BE SURE TO SIGN YOUR CHILD OUT OF EXTENDED DAY WHEN YOU PICK UP. Our staff is busy with other students and cannot always stop to make sure parents have signed out. We do student counts hourly(sometimes more)  and go based on how many students are signed in to ProCare. If our numbers do not match, we have to stop all children from their fun activities in order to do roll call. If you forget to sign out, please notify us before our closing time (6:00pm) Otherwise, ProCare charges a $15 late pick up fee(every 15 minutes)  if your child is still signed in past 6:00.

  • What if someone other than me is picking up my child(ren)?

    In the ProCare app you can add people to your authorized pick-up list. You may also call or text our site cell phone with the name of the person who may be picking up your child. If you have added an additional authorized pick up, you do not need to notify us, we always check your child's profile to make sure that person is authorized to pick up. Anyone listed on their profile can pick up any day and time. If you have a one time pick up or playdate, please call/text/or email the site supervisor to let them know who will be picking up. We will only authorize it for that one time, unless you specify otherwise. If you need to edit or add additional pick ups, you may do so on our app by clicking the top right corner “Profile” Scroll down and “add pick up” Please be sure to remind anyone picking up that they will need a photo ID and they must be 18+ years of age

  • Is my child able to leave school and come back to Extended Day?

    Once your child is signed out and leaves the campus, they cannot return to Extended Day. Some exceptions apply, but please speak to the director to get approval before.

  • During kinder early release, will my child have lunch with their teacher or with Extended Day?

    Children will have just snack time with their teacher. Lunch will be with Extended Day Staff. When the bell rings, we will make sure all students are checked in.Then we will have students with their own lunch from home sit and eat at our tables. Those going to the Cafeteria will wait in line and one of our staff members will walk them to get lunch. Sometimes children will eat all of their lunch during snack time…if your child does not have enough food when they come to us, we will offer them lunch from the cafeteria.

  • What if my student is signed up for an after school program such as soccer, chess, ect.?

    If your child is signed up for an after school enrichment program, you need to notify staff what days/times your child will be participating in the activity.

     We ask that your child check in with one of our staff to let us know they will be going to their enrichment program. We will not sign in your student for the day until they have officially returned our program. Your child will walk over to our area,so that we can sign them in to Extended Day.

     If your child will NOT be attending their enrichment program on a scheduled day, please let our staff know.

    Enrichment programs typically begin right after school, we will do our best to ensure your child gets to their activity.

    If your child is participating in an activity/sport that does not begin right after school & is not associated with Cardiff School District, you will need to make arrangements for an adult to help them get dressed/ready & can sign them out of Extended Day.

  • Does my child need to attend every day?

    Your child does not need to attend every day but we do not prorate for missed days or weeks. If your child will not be attending Extended Day or you pick up before school dismissal time, PLEASE let us know. We expect all students to check in with us Monday-Friday of school days after the bell rings, we really appreciate if you could let us know when/if your child will not check in with us. In the event that your child does not check in after school, we will have a staff member do the following:

    Check the parent pick up locations,

    Ask their teacher if they went home,

    Check with any after school programs,

    Check with the front office,

    Call the parent.

    *Please note we may call the parent first if we do not have an available staff to leave an area and do all of the above. Communication is key.

    We would like to avoid making so many calls, it really helps us to know ahead of time.

    If you have specific days in which your child will not be attending Extended Day, even if it months ahead, you can let us know and we can add it to our calendar.

    You can call/text/email/send a message through Pro-Care or let us know in person. Whatever is easiest & more covenient to you.

  • What kind of activities will students be doing?

    Students will have a wide variety of inside and outside activities such as: Arts and Crafts, Sports, Group Games, STEM/Science activities, etc. Students rotate into different rooms/activities every 30 minutes. Children are not assigned a specific room. When you pick up,please check in with a staff member so that we can call for them on the walkie talkie, since we have different staff & students throughout different areas of the school.

  • Will students be in groups or mixed together?

    During the school year we will group children together with peers of a similar age group/grade. Due to high enrollment, we cannot make special requests, students get enough time during snack/playtime to be with their friends. Kinders will usually play in the Kinder Playground and Grades 1-2 will play down in the blacktop area.

     

    Ada Harris: Students are also placed in a group with peers of a similar age group/grade.

  • What do I need to send my child with?

    We will provide generic sunscreen and will have snacks around 2:35pm (2:45 Ada Harris) and 5pm. It is always good to send your child with extra food/snacks in case they are hungry before or after we have served snack. If your child has any food restrictions, please provide snacks accordingly or speak to a site supervisor. Please, do not let your child bring toys from home as we do not want them lost or damaged. If your child is an incoming Kinder, please be sure to pack extra clothes in case of accidents.

  • What should my child wear to the program?

    For safety reasons, we do ask that students wear close-toed shoes so they can play on the wood-chipped areas. Also, please be sure to check the weather and dress your child appropriately as some days can get very hot & some days they may feel cold.

  • When are payments due?

     Payments are due at the end of the month during the school year. *Students may lose their place in our program after 3 late pick-ups or 3 late payments.

  • What if I no longer need care?

    If you need to cancel, you will need to notify the Extended Day Director at least 2 weeks in advance. Please keep in mind that if you cancel, you are not guaranteed enrollment back into the program if you change your mind. We are experiencing long waitlists for our program, spots fill up quickly.
