All About Me

Annie Mihaly

     Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! My name is Annie Mihaly, and I am thrilled to be one of the 4th grade teachers at Ada Harris Elementary School. This will be my 14th year teaching and my 11th year teaching here at Ada Harris. I was born and raised in Carlsbad and love to read, hike, and spend time with family and friends. Below you will find some interesting facts about me:

1. I have three amazing kiddos: Kate is 8, Madison is 6, and Colton is 4.

2. I attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Go Wildcats!

3. I have known I've wanted to be a teacher ever since I was 5 years old.

4. My favorite hobby is sailing.

6. I love to cook, but I still have a long way to go before I make it as a contestant on Top Chef.

7. My absolute favorite food is peanut butter toast with bananas, followed closely by chocolate sprinkled donuts.

8. I taught 6th grade in a middle school for three years and loved it!

9. I have a passion for anything related to marine biology. 

10. I am surprisingly good at clapping. Cover your ears!

11. I am so excited about this coming school year! Fourth graders are awesome!
