Technology-Enriched Learning
Inspiring a love of learning is at the heart of education.
In the Cardiff School District, we believe that technology is one part of a balanced academic program. 1:1 iPads are used to personalize student learning pathways and as a tool for students to demonstrate their learning. Our classroom environments are designed around hands-on, collaborative, experiential learning that includes a variety of resources and tools. Books, paper, and pencils play an equally important role, along with technology, in our classrooms. We are proud of our balanced academic program and our age-appropriate use of technology. Devices are not sent home until the upper grades, and then only as needed.
Technology helps us to:
- Provide blended learning environments within our classrooms
- Empower our digital-age learners and personalize their learning
- Develop students’ essential skills and habits of mind for college and career readiness
- Emphasize Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM)
- Promote deeper learning and problem-solving with project-based learning and performance tasks
- Value the importance of being safe, responsible, and respectful digital citizens with age-appropriate Common Sense Education lessons
