    PHYSICAL EDUCATION WITH COACH ROTH

I am very excited to be teaching PE for my fifth year at Ada Harris. I love this community and district! I want to share a bit about myself so you can understand my love for teaching physical education. I grew up being active and loving outdoor activities for as long as I can remember. I’m still connected with my middle school PE teacher who was my inspiration to become a PE teacher. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Cal (University of California at Berkeley). I also played soccer at Cal and was a 2-time All-American there. I recently attended the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and saw 7 incredible soccer games- one of the best trips in my life! My love for team sports has taught me many life lessons about hard work, teamwork, and leadership and it has impacted my life and helped to bring me great success. In addition to team sports, I have enjoyed many other outdoor activities (ultramarathon running, cycling, skiing, snow-shoeing, golfing, body surfing, surf-kayaking, hiking, disc golf). I hope I can inspire our students to find a passion for physical activity that can benefit them for their entire lives.

                  .                                       .

It is my goal in PE that through games, skill lessons, fitness, and cooperative activities, students will learn about aspects of life that are crucial to their overall development. These include teamwork, cooperation, conflict resolution, respect, sportsmanship, and compassion. And most importantly, I hope students build confidence so that they can tackle any adventure they desire for lifelong wellness.

I’m looking forward to another great PE year!
