Student's Guide and FAQ

  • Welcome to the Wildcat Band!

A word about instrument choice: our instrumental sectionals have limited enrollment to maintain teacher/student ratios, and to maintain balance in the Band.  If some sectionals are over-enrolled, we may have to use a lottery system.  Do not despair!  All the instruments will make great music, and learning any one of the wind instruments is a giant step towards learning another.

How much will I have to practice?

Please read Ms. Gold's tips for practice success here!

You will make great progress if you practice every day for 10-20 minutes, or three days a week for 30 minutes.  If you practice less than twice a week you might fall behind the group.  Just apply yourself with some extra practice and try and catch up! Most important, keep coming to your sectional lesson and your band rehearsal.
